The Toastmasters Leadership Club held an amazing wine tasting fundraiser in Shanghai on March 19, 2009. Over 40 people came out to raise funds to provide the Shi Chuan Gou Elementary School with a library, learn about wine, and meet new friends. 4,715 RMB was raised through ticket sales, cash donations, and wine auction. 东方网12月12日报道：第二届马里兰年度慈善筹款活动于近日在上海落下帷幕。共计6万多元的善款将由中华捐书会安排，在贫困地区进行书籍捐赠与学校、孤儿院的图书馆修建工作。据悉，这次获得的善款将在安徽省建立10所图书馆。
中华捐书会创始人汤木表示：“尽管受到全球经济金融危机的影响，但今年我们所募集的资金却比去年多了35%，这十分难得，我们期待与马里兰大学罗伯特?史密斯商学院的学生与校友们继续合作。”
本次捐款的6万元人民币，将捐给安徽省太和县，二级或中心学校将得到500本中文儿童读物，缺乏硬件设备的小学以及图书馆也将得到桌椅及书架等设备。
据了解，截至2008年11月，通过中华捐书会，全国已经建立起79所小学图书馆，超过56,500册中文儿童读物送到了渴望知识的孩子们手中，17,700名孩子得以改善了教育环境。
